The Tarrant Valley 10

🎉40th Anniversary 1st June 2025🎉

The Langton Arms

A 10k running race organised by Tarrant Monkton and Launceston villages. It also includes a 1 mile race for little legs.

The 10k route follows the river Tarrant downstream along the valley and up to the chalk hills once populated with the infrastructure to support the nearby WW2 airfield of Tarrant Rushton. It makes its way through the ancient woodland and the farming landscape of Cranborne Chase, skimming Manswood, home to the longest residential thatched roof in the country. The run circles Launceston Wood, passes a, locally famous, lightning struck tree – fallen in 2024- and crosses an old roman road twice before descending back into the village.

It starts and finishes at the Langton Arms in Tarrant Monkton, taking place every June. A walk is also available, starting from the pub.
