Start in the small village of Furzebrook which was once the epicentre of the clay industry, the area producing the raw materials required for the famous Wedgewood brand amongst others. Pass the village’s manor, so thoroughly used and abused during the Second World War, that the family didn’t want it back. Make your way past the haunting Blue Pool that changes its colour from turquoise to emerald, depending on the weather (cost to enter). Wander through ancient woodland and specie rich heathland, navigating your way around old clay pits under the shadow of the Purbeck hills. Walk through East Creech, passing a conical peak of Creech Barrow to return via Creech Heath, with views stretching across to Poole Harbour.

How to Get There: From Wareham travel south through Stoborough to meet the A351 at a roundabout. Go straight over onto Furzebrook Lane. Shortly after crossing the railway line, the phone box and layby is on your left hand side.
Dogs: In accordance with the Countryside Code and any notices on route.
Refreshments: There are tea rooms for paying visitors at Blue Pool or the nearest pub is The Halfway Inn on the A351.
