Beginning in an ancient environment of barrows and barren heath, climb Blacknoll Hill to reveal the landscape of the future. Skim the remains of a nuclear power station to the railway and around the innovation park, researching and developing the technology of tomorrow. Pass the Police Headquarters, itself soon to be updated, to arrive at the medieval landscape and earthworks of the deserted settlement of West Burton.

How to Get There: From Wool, travel west on the A352 for about 2 miles and turn right onto Gatemore Road. Pass the houses and the large layby will appear on the right, in about half a mile.

Dogs: In accordance with the Countryside Code and any notices on route.

Refreshments: On the route is The Seven Stars Inn and The Countryman Inn, there is also and The Black Bear and the Hall and Woodhouse pub the Ship Inn in nearby Wool.
