Explore one of the top 50 villages in the country, according to the Sunday Times. High up in the valley of the tributaries of the river Yeo and built from golden ham stone, it is home to a school paid for by the scientist Robert Boyle. It is also the birthplace of an accidental biologist Benjamin Jesty, who vaccinated his own family against Small Pox before the scientific world caught on and was chased out the village for his madness! Pass two of the smallest railway stations in the county and through the villages of Thornford, with its Victorian clock tower, and Beer Hackett where the village stream joins the River Wriggle, before following the railway back to Yetminster.

How to Get There: From Yeovil, travel south on the A37 towards Dorchester. After about 3 miles turn left, signposted for Yetminster. On arriving in the village, turn left then right into the High Street. Pass the White Hart on your left to take the next right into Church Street. The church and parking is on the right hands side.
