South Perrott and Chedington

Enjoy a pub crawl through three villages in North West Dorset. Starting in the village of South Perrott and the Coach and Horses Inn, pass the earthwork remains of Mohun Castle on the way to Mosterton. Discover the tractor in the stain glass window of the church sitting opposite the next pub of Admiral Hardy. Experience wide open views to the north as you approach the ancient village of Chedington. Once ruled by a powerful county house, the small thatched cottages, stone walls and even the village pump still stand proud, despite the efforts of nature. Follow the road to Winyard’s Gap, passing a hidden WW2 memorial, to Winyard’s Gap Inn, a location associated with a crime that was solved twice, but the conclusion still up for debate. Join the River Parrett Trail to return to South Perrott, a route that links coast to coast by adjoining the Brit Valley way to the South.
