Dewlish

Set deep amongst the hills of the Dorset Downs, Dewlish was once home to an impressive Roman settlement which has produced stunning evidence of life. An unearthed mosaic went on its own journey only to be stopped by the government. Today Dewlish is dominated by a large country estate, which has also had its troubles. Recently sold (for the second time only in its life) and its entire contents peddled off at auction in April 2021. This little village, hidden low in the valley of the Devil’s Brook, off the modern day beaten track has experienced a number of ups and downs to match its landscape and buildings.
